Cancer Care Western NSW

Cancer Care Western NSW
Relay for Life 2010

Cancer Care Western NSW is a registered charity established in 2006.

Most Families are touched by cancer in one way or another. Cancer treatment for rural people requires travel to a major city where suitable accommodation for up to 7 weeks can be difficult to find. Affordable and comfortable accommodation is appreciated by patients for this difficult period. Patients are usually accompanied by family carers who need accommodation as well

NSW Health will provide the radiotherapy treatment facilities at the new Orange Hospital for patients from all of Western NSW but not the accommodation. Cancer Care Western NSW is filling this need by planning and constructing CareWest Lodge.

CareWest Lodge will provide modest but comfortable accommodation in a mutually supportive environment for people from all over Western NSW who will be receiving radiotherapy and chemotherapy at the new Orange Hospital. The Lodge will be on the Bloomfield campus of the new Orange Hospital.

Bloomfield is 6km south of the CBD within easy access for shopping and cultural activities. These can be enjoyed in the time between therapy sessions.
