Cancer Care Western NSW provided establishment funding for the Clinical Trials Unit at Orange Health Service for 3 years.

The Unit is now independent. It services the Central West and Orange are. The Trials Unit is working to assist and access patients in remote areas using ‘teletrials’ through the Telehealth Systems.

Thank you to all our donors for supporting the establishment and Funding of the Clinical Trials Unit.
$300,000 was raised to establish the Unit and to provide operating costs for 3 years. The
Unit is now self-supporting and proudly acknowledged by the Orange Health Service.

Congratulations to Dr Rob Zielinski, Director of the Central West Cancer Care Centre’s Clinical Trials Unit and School of Rural Health alumnus, who was awarded Clinical Research Leader of the Year for leading a NSW-first scheme to provide rural patients with access to new and potentially life-saving cancer treatments.

Thank you to Central West Radiology

A big thank you to the team at Central West Radiology. A great effort for such a small group to raise $840 during breast cancer awareness month. It was a pleasure to show Nicole Evans the Operations Manager Central West Radiology some of the easy chairs their donation assisted with the purchase of.

Thank you dinner for our Volunteers

Staff at Western Care Lodge recently hosted a dinner and music for 40 volunteers who support the Lodge on weekends.

A delicious meal was prepared on site by our manager Sue Vaughan who supported by the staff. An amazing set up on the tables added to the fare with an additional visual feast.

Sue commented “it was a joy to cook in such a great commercial sized kitchen”. The night culminated with small gifts to the volunteers.

Don't forget to follow us on Facebook. A big thank you to our supporters and a special thanks to our guests who have written such wonderful testimonials.
